Pasties are a proud Alumni Reunion tradition at Michigan Technological University. This year, there was a new twist: reunion attendees were able to watch Tech’s Executive Chef Eric Karvonen deftly prepare the Copper Country’s signature dish before heading out to the ever-popular Pasty Picnic.
Tech Talks featured Dr. Jason Carter discussing his research on sleep apnea and Dr. William Sproule ’70 who shared photos from his new book about the history of Copper Country streetcars. Alumni, family and friends also partook in science demonstrations and nature hikes for kids, kayak and canoe excursions as well as tours on the University’s research vessel, the Agassiz.
It all happened at the 2013 Alumni Reunion, Aug. 1-3 which included members of the featured classes of 1963, 1973, 1983, 1988, 1993 and 2003, as well as the Golden Ms, who graduated 50 or more years ago. More Reunion details can be found here.
Reunion is a great opportunity for all former students and members of the University community to get together and rekindle relationships.
Mark your calendars and plan to come back to the Copper Country for Reunion 2014 August 7-9.
