Copper Country Snowfall Contest is back!

Snowfall Contest BannerIf you accurately predict the total amount of snow to fall in the Keweenaw this winter you could win a stay in a campus guest room (located in the Memorial Union Building & Wadsworth Hall) and a Michigan Tech Winter Survival Kit.

The Alumni Association’s third annual Snowfall Contest collected 560 entries ranging from a low of 75 inches to a high of 312 inches. The official snowfall total for the 2012-13 season was 225.75 according to the Michigan Tech Keweenaw Research Center’s weather station located near the Houghton County Airport.

There were four predictions of 225 inches and we used the tiebreaking question of when the snow would stop falling (May 12th) to choose Robert Ungeran ’67 as the winner of the grand prize and Paul Marttila ’95 was chosen to receive the consolation prize.
