Mollie Ruth ’13 wins the March Snowfall Contest

Last month was relatively mild, giving us only 10.25″ of snow. This is a little less than half the the average snowfall for March over the last twenty years. Of the 113 people who participated in the snowfall contest, two people were tied for closest at 9″. Mollie Ruth ’13 (Environmental Engineering) broke the tie with her prediction of -20°F for the low temperature. (The coldest temperature recorded was -20.1°F on March 5th.)

Mollie will receive a Michigan Tech Winter Survival Kit for her winning guess.

There’s still time to enter the Monthly Snowfall Contest for April, but hurry, the contest closes on Friday, April 10! Be sure to check the Snowfall Records to see how your guess measures up against April totals in the past.
