What major is best for getting into health professional programs?

Schools accept all majors as long as you have met the prerequisites for getting into the program. Most students major in biological sciences with a prehealth concentration as this degree meets the major requirements. Major prerequisites include a year of biology with lab, a year of chemistry with lab, a year of organic chemistry with lab, a year of physics with lab and a year of English. If your major does not include these then you will need to add them to your program. Each school may have additional requirements and these vary from school to school. It is a good idea to start looking at websites of the schools to ensure that you are meeting the minimum requirements. Additional courses that will help you in standardized tests include biochemistry, genetics, psychology and sociology.
