Michigan Tech researchers, Professor Martin Auer , Associate Professor Judith Perlinger , Assistant Professor Casey Huckins (Bio-Sci) have received three grants totaling about $200,000 from the Michigan Great Lakes Protection Fund.
Associate Professor Judith Perlinger has received a $74,989 grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency for her project, “Comparison of Technologies for PBT Flux Determination.”
Associate Professor William Sproule has received a $74,920 award from the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Isle Royale National Park, for his project, “Market Demand/Financial Feasibility for an Alternative Transportation System–Keweenaw National Historical Park.”
Associate Professor Brian Barkdoll has received a $363,116 contract from the National Academy of Sciences for his project, “Countermeasures to Protect Bridge Abutments from Scour.”
Assistant Professor Theresa Ahlborn has received a $76,547 award from the Michigan Department of Transportation, for her project, “Condition Assessment and Methods of Abatement to Prestressed Concrete Box-Beam Deterioration.”
Pasi Lautala, director of the Rail Transportation Program, has received $76,000 from the US Department of Education for a two-year project, “Tuning Transatlantic Cooperation in Rail Higher Education (TUNRail).”
