Agassiz Draws a Crowd at Strawberry Festival

More than 160 people, ages 8 to 80, participated in one of nine scientific excursions on Chassell Bay, offered on Tech’s Research Vessel Agassiz at the Strawberry Festival in Chassell on Saturday, July 7. Director Joan Chadde, Center for Science and Environmental Outreach at the Great Lakes Research Center, coordinated the event, which she called “a huge success.” READ MORE

Lake Superior, Great Lakes Research Center Subject of Radio Program

An upcoming Copper Country Today program will focus on the health of Lake Superior and Tech’s new Great Lakes Research Center. Here is the schedule:

Psychology society to hold inaugural fundraiser

“Psi Chi is an international honor society in psychology,” Mayra said. “We’re hosting it for them so we can raise some money for their program.” Seeing as this is the first fundraiser for the relatively new program at Tech, Mayra said she hopes to see people come out to the pancake breakfast, slated for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14 at Houghton Elementary School. READ MORE
