Please join us in thanking Pete Cattelino, Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships for Industry Relations, for his years of service to Michigan Tech and wishing him every success in his retirement.
Pete Cattelino, Class of 1974 Forestry, has been a Husky for nearly his entire career. Initially starting in research with the School of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences, Pete’s passion for customer service and skills building personal relationships led him to roles in University and Advancement and Development. In 2003, Cattelino spearheaded Michigan Tech’s largest ever STEM Education event series, YES Expo, a Detroit area Science and Engineering Festival, hosting hundreds of corporate sponsors and 20,000+ area youth at Ford Field. YES Expo helped spawn Michigan Tech’s now nationwide Mind Trekkers traveling science festival, which today reaches over 100,000 students each year. For the past nine years, Cattelino has worked with corporate partners, helping them achieve their goals on campus. Currently as Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships, Pete has been the liaison for the University and its largest industry partners including General Motors, Ford, and FCA.
Pete’s impact throughout his career expands well past the boundaries of Michigan Tech. Relationships he’s built, programs he’s supported, and students/alumni he’s helped, stretch around the globe. Please join me in congratulating Peter J. Cattelino in his next adventure of retirement, enjoying much deserved time with his wife Sue; children Angela, Patrick, Tyler, and Jason; and many grandchildren.
