eLearning is offering introductory and advanced workshops throughout 2012 and beyond to help you use the Canvas learning management system effectively to support instruction.

Workshops for the next two weeks are listed below. To register, send an email to elearning@mtu.edu with the topic, date and time of each session that you would like to attend. Canvas will replace Blackboard/WebCT as the university’s learning management system beginning track A of summer semester. eLearning is offering this hands-on lab, as well as workshops, to help instructors build courses in the Canvas learning management system.

Participants, attending this lab, will use classroom computers and receive step-by-step guidance from eLearning staff to do the following:

• Create a new, blank course in Canvas
• Copy content from a Blackboard course into their Canvas course
• Learn how to copy content from one Canvas course to another

During the time remaining at the end of the lab,  eLearning’s staff will be available to help participants work with their courses.

We recommend that participants attend one of eLearning’s Canvas 101: Introduction to Building within Canvas workshops, either before or after attending this lab. Upcoming dates and times for the hands-on lab and Canvas 101 workshop are provided below:
