The National Association of Multicultural Engineering Program Advocates (NAMEPA) is currently seeking presenters for the 2017 National Conference.
NAMEPA is a platform for identifying best practices among university programs in the diversity space. Through this platform, training opportunities are available for university administrators, K-12 students, teachers and counselors, new and seasoned MEP directors, and industry professionals who are committed to increasing diversity in the STEM fields. NAMEPA is committed to increasing the participation of students from traditionally underrepresented minority populations in engineering higher education and professional pursuits. This year, the NAMEPA National Conference will be held at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA on September 10-13, 2017
Educators as well as engineers and scientists in industry from across the nation are invited to submit abstracts on topics relevant to NAMEPA members such as:
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Outreach and Recruitment
- First Year Programs – including first year transition programs
- Program Assessment
The theme for the conference this year is, Blazing a New Path: Diversity in the 21st Century. If you are interested in presenting your topic in the form of a presentation or workshop, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your abstract no later than March 20, 2017. Abstracts should be no longer than one (1) page.
