Background: The William R. Nagel Scholarship is in memory of Bill Nagel who graduated from East High School in Appleton in 1979 and from Michigan Technological University in 1984 with a B.S.E.E. degree in Computer Design. Bill had worked for Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle for a short time and then spent the rest of his years as a Product Engineering Supervisor with the Buick Division of General Motors. He suffered an untimely death in 1997. He was an outstanding son and enjoyed a number of non-work activities including snorkeling, golf, handball, and dancing. It is the desire of the family to remember the best times in Bill’s life by helping others in a small way to attend Michigan Technological University.
