Hillside Place Waiting List

With only 194 beds, Hillside is the smallest and newest residence hall.  It is extremely popular and filled quickly during the contract renewal process this year.

A waiting list opened for students on February 1, 2017 at 9am EST.  If you renewed a contract in a different building, but really want to be in Hillside…or if you renewed in Hillside in one room but really want a different room…please go online and submit your request to the Hillside Place waiting list on February 1, 2017 starting at 9am EST.

At the end of the Spring 2017 semester, some students will be removed from Hillside due to coop, internship, study abroad, fall camp, transfer, withdrawal, and graduation.  In May, students on the waiting list will be contacted by email if vacancies are then available.  The Hillside Place waiting list will be online:

Make sure you are logged in to your Michigan Tech account.  You will not be able to access this google form from a personal google account.  Only Michigan Tech students can access the form.

Deadline: Residence Hall Contract Renewal

The deadline for current or returning students to renew a contract to live in the residence halls is February 28, 2017 at 5pm EST.  Completed contracts must be received and processed in the Housing office by this date and time.  Any request submitted by a current or returning student for residence hall housing after February 28, 2017 at 5pm EST will be placed on a waiting list.

To sign a residence hall contract, a current or returning student will need to go in person to Housing (153 Wadsworth Hall), Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  If you are a current student and you are away for coop, internship, study abroad, or have taken the semester off, you will need to email housing@mtu.edu for assistance.

If you are uncertain if you completed a contract already or not, please come to Housing for direct assistance and confirmation.

Locks and Keys

Your safety and security is important to us. As apartments are renovation process, Housing will be installing new locks in each newly renovated apartment exterior door. These new locks are an upgrade to match the new hardware in the door. We are adding locks with additional interior “pins” to increase your security.

Daniell Heights Construction Update

Apartments in 1801, 1802, 1803 and 1804 are now complete. Apartment buildings 1806 and 1808 are currently undergoing renovation. 1805 and 1807 will be next. Renovations will include new carpet, new kitchen appliances, improved bathrooms, new paint, and new furniture. Please check back here for updates.

Over the next five years, all apartments in Daniell Heights are scheduled to be renovated. Renovations are starting in lower Daniell Heights and will move to upper Daniell Heights. We hope you are as excited about these improvements as we are.
