Make an appointment with your advisor to discuss how best to select classes for this important aspect of your degree. In many of the Humanities Department major degree schedules, students have the opportunity to design their emphasis/concentration area so they have the background knowledge necessary to communicate in professional fields of interest (such as business, medicine, industry, and so on). An emphasis area is also the place in which students dedicate credits toward a minor or a certificate.
