Don’t become a victim! Please secure your unattended valuables.

Friday, January 25th, 2013

Please help us in our efforts to keep the campus community safe.  Take care not to leave your valuable possessions unattended, even for a short period of time.

If you leave your room, even for a few minutes, be sure to close and lock your door.

When you park your car, be sure to lock the doors and don’t leave valuable items in plain view.

When you use the SDC, don’t leave your valuable items in the hallway.  Place them in a locker and lock the locker.

These are just a few examples of ways in which you can help us keep the campus community safe and secure.  By being partners, we can prevent the majority of thefts that could otherwise occur.  It only takes a few seconds for a someone to take your property and walk away with it if is not secured while unattended.

Lock your bicycle up when you are not using it.  It only takes a few seconds for an unattended bicycle to become a stolen bicycle.

Register your bicycle with the Department of Public Safety and Police Services.  You will be issued a registration sticker which you place on your bicycle.  In the event that your bicycle does get stolen, the sticker will help the police get the bicycle back to you.
