Workshop Addresses Finding Funding

The Research Development Office and Corporate Partnerships Office will host an educational session, “Finding Funding,” from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3. The session will be in Memorial Union Ballroom A2.

This session will help faculty and staff develop strategies to identify and secure sources of financial support for research and related activities.

Topics covered will include:

  • planning,
  • research,
  • funding sources, and
  • the online Grant Forward program for research funding and collaboration.

The session will offer a high-level look at strategies for seeking funding from corporate, foundation, and government sponsors.

New On-demand Training Module: Grants.gov

Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce an on-demand training module for the Grants.gov website. This module will cover the basics of searching for funding as well as downloading and completing an application package for sponsored projects using the Grants.gov website. This training is directed towards principal investigators. Please consider taking advantage of this resource.

The Grants.gov training module can be found on the VPR training webpage under the subheading “Applying for Grants & Contracts.” In the future, more on-demand trainings will be made available and announced.


Research Workshop: Review of Foreign National Restrictions on Awards

The Vice President for Research Office will host an educational session, “Review of Foreign National Restrictions on Awards,” from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 19 in Memorial Union Ballroom A2.

This session will help faculty and staff understand and address foreign national restrictions considerations when conducting research. Topics covered will include: managing technical data, intellectual property, and proprietary materials; defining and working with foreign nationals, publishing, and teaching; and exporting and licensing considerations.
