kk_2ndweek_Flyer1. Khana Khanzana Serving Thai Food

Khana Khazana, a weekly international lunch will feature Thai cuisine this Friday, January 23 cooked by Siranee Nuchitprasitchai, PHD student from Chemical Engineering department and Yuenyong Nilsiam, PHD student from Computer Engineering department.
The main dish is “Chicken Massaman Curry”. Its a famous rich and very flavorful Thai curry which incorporates, chicken/tofu with lemongrass, nuts and key Thai ingredients. This will be served with plain rice.
The second dish is “Yum-Khai-Tom”. Its a mild spicy and sour salad made of egg/tofu, bellpepper, lettuce, cilantro flavored by garlic, jalapeno and Thai spices.
We will be serving “Banana Wanton”, a Thai desert with ripe banana and almond stuffing inside wonton wraps. Its fried and topped with chocolate syrup.
We will start serving at 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the MUB Food Court. The whole meal is $6.95 with free fountain soda and $2.50 for one side.

4. HuskyLEAD Session, Financing and Budgeting for Your Organization

Please join us for the next HuskyLEAD, “Financing and Budgeting for Your Organization” on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 6:00 PM in Fisher 135.  This HuskyLEAD workshop is required for any student organization planning to request funding from the Undergraduate Student Government for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Participants attending this session will learn the procedures to follow when applying for USG funding.  Students will learn about the opportunities available for student organizations to receive funding and will focus on collaboration and goal-setting to further their organization’s mission.
HuskyLEAD is a series of professional development workshops geared toward student organization leaders.  All students are welcomed and encouraged to attend.  HuskyLEAD is sponsored by Student Activities and there is no charge to attend.  Any questions or comments about HuskyLEAD can be directed to Maryann Wilcox, coordinator for registered student organizations, at 906-487-2402 or mawilcox@mtu.edu.

 7. Jazz Cabaret: Backstage at the Rozsa

See the Rozsa stage transformed into an intimate jazz-club atmosphere with the Jazz Cabaret: Backstage at the Rozsa, on Friday and Saturday, January 23-24, at 7:30 pm each night, and enjoy two nights of small group jazz. Both evenings will showcase dynamic music featuring The Dan Fuhrmann Trio, JazTec, AstroSax, and Momentum, with special guests, in an atmosphere and vibe of a “New York club” with the unique jazz club of the “Backstage.”  Jazz, Funk, Swing, Latin – you name it, we’ve got it!

9. Michigan Tech Trivia Night

Please join the Student Philanthropy Council for a Michigan Tech Trivia Night in the MUB on Tuesday February 24 from 7:00 – 8:00PM.  All registered student organizations are invited to participate with a team (3 member maximum).  There will be prizes for each round and a grand prize of $500 for your student org.  To register or for more information please email jrbiekko@mtu.edu.

11. Winter Carnival Stage Revue 2015

During Stage Revue, campus fraternities, sororities, and several other student organizations present skits full of college humor that brings the Winter Carnival theme to life! The final performance will be Thursday, February 5 at 7:00 PM in the Rozsa Center.  General admission is $10.

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion & Filmboard will show the film Dear White People, a satire about being a black face in a white place. Registration is now open for the Annual Bigfoot Snowshoe event on Saturday, February 7 from 8AM-11AM  at the Tech Trails (Sharon Ave Trail Head).
