Family Fun Day Events on May 16

Don’t miss the High Ropes Experience and the Paddle Board and Kayaking Demo held during Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 16.  Outdoor Adventure Program is hosting both events and it is free to participate. The High Ropes Experience will be held at the Tech Trails and is from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The Paddle Board and Kayak Demo is held at Prince’s Point and goes from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

Outdoor Adventure Program Hosting, Intro to Mountain Biking

Get instruction on how to start mountain biking, along with the gear and basics for doing it on your own.  The cost is the cost of a bike rental (50% off for event) or free if you have your own bike. Meet at 6:00 PM at the Outdoor Recreation and Wellness Center across the highway from the Library.

Compete against yourself and others to see who can stack the most crates. Its harder than you might think! The event goes from 7:00 PM – (:00 PM at the Tech Trails by the High Ropes Challenge Course.

Boating Safety Info Session

Its that time of year, time to get out on the water and enjoy the natural wonder of the Keweenaw. Water sports can be fun for everyone but it is also important to learn how to be safe on the water. The Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting a boating safety info session with an emphasis on Paddle Sports. Please stop into the Memorial Union Ballroom A1 on Thursday, May 28 at 5:30 PM. It is free to attend and there will be food and prizes too!
