Michigan Tech Huskies Fan Bus

Michigan Tech Athletics is organizing a fan bus to travel to St. Joseph, Missouri for the NCAA Women’s National Championship game (depending if Michigan Tech wins the semi-final game on Wednesday night). Those interested in taking

the fan bus should contact Steve Nordstrom at 487-3071, 370-0240 or spnordst@mtu.edu.

The cost of the fan bus could range from $100-$140 per person depending on the number of fans who take the bus. The bus is limited to 53 passengers and will be first come first served. Ultimately, the bus will only go if demand is great enough, so you must confirm by Thursday at 4 pm The bus will stay Friday night and return on Saturday. Lodging details will be announced in the near future.

Michigan Tech was awarded the top seed and host site for the 2011 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Midwest Regional as the NCAA announced the 64-team field for the tournament. Seven teams from around the region will descend upon Houghton for the regional which will be played March 11-14.

The schedule of games is as follows (all times Eastern):
Friday, March 11 • Quarterfinals
Game 1: No. 6 Missouri S&T vs. No. 3 Wisconsin-Parkside, 12 noon
Game 2: No. 7 Kentucky Wesleyan vs. No. 2 Quincy, 2:30 p.m.
Game 3: No. 8 Lewis vs. No. 1 Michigan Tech, 6 p.m.
Game 4: No. 5 Drury vs. No. 4 Grand Valley State, 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 12 • Semifinals
Game 5: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, 5 p.m.
Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner, 7:30 p.m.

Monday, March 14 • Championship
Game 7: Game 5 winner vs. Game 6 winner, 7 p.m.

All games will be played at the Student Development Complex Gymnasium on Michigan Tech’s campus. Tickets for the event will go on sale Tuesday (Mar. 8), at 8 a.m. Michigan Tech season ticket holders and sponsors will have until 9 p.m. Wednesday (Mar. 9) to reserve their same seats. Prices for adults are $12 for reserved seats and $10 for general admission. Children age 3-18 are $5. College students are $3.
