Student IT Services Satisfaction Survey Results (Residence Halls – Spring 2011)

Housing and Telecommunications conducted a survey in Spring 2011 to determine the satisfaction of the residents with the information technology service offerings in the halls. We sent out 1770 requests to participate in the survey, and we received 406 responses or 23% of the residents.

Telcom Restructures Customer Service Function

To better serve the campus community, Telcom’s walk-in service in EERC B1 will be eliminated, effective Monday, August 23, 2010, and all university departments will be assigned a primary customer support specialist. Departments will be contacted directly by their designated support specialist before October 1, 2010. Your customer support specialist will be responsible for assisting with telephone and network service orders, answering questions on Telcom services and billing, and monitoring service requests to ensure timely completion.

Order Processing and Service Requests

Requests for all telecommunications services should continue to be emailed to telcom-request@mtu.edu. Requests for new network services should continue to be submitted by department computer support groups.

Department support staff or others who have questions concerning orders or service requests should contact Telcom at 487-2000 or by emailing telcom-request@mtu.edu.
