STEM Faculty Openings

The Department of Engineering and Computer Science at Seattle Pacific University has an opening for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Computer Science, both beginning Fall 2017.

For the EE position, a PhD in EE or Computer Engineering is required, as is a commitment to SPU’s Christian mission. A specialty in analog electronics is highly preferred.

For the CS position, a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field (i.e., Computer Engineering or Software Engineering) is required, as is a commitment to SPU’s Christian mission.  Emphases in programming languages, algorithms and complexity, or operating systems is highly preferred.

NSF-REU at IUPUI in Mobile Computing Security

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis NSF- Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program – Enhancing Undergraduate Experience in Mobile Computing Security

In its third year, the Enhancing Undergraduate Experience in Mobile Computing Security spans 10 weeks and involves undergraduate students from many different colleges and universities from across the United States.  Students participants will work directly with IUPUI faculty members and their research, and be part of the larger IUPUI community.


PROGRAM DATES: May 26, 2015 – July 31, 2015


  • Hands-on research in state-of-the-art facilities
  • Seminars, workshops, and field trips
  • Group social activities and banquet
  • Optional outreach opportunities to high school students


  • Undergraduate students majoring in information technology computer science, computer engineering, or related field

Applications for NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program now open

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) application period is now open!  NSF is soliciting applications for the GRFP until the posted deadlines in late October and early November 2014.  Since 1952, GRFP has provided Fellowships to individuals selected early in their graduate careers based on their demonstrated potential for significant achievements in science and engineering.  Three years of support is provided by the program for graduate study in science or engineering and leads to a research-based master’s or doctoral degree.  The NSF expects to award 2,000 Graduate Research Fellowships under this program solicitation pending availability of funds.

Assistant Professor position – California State Polytechnic University

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for one tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2015.

U.S. Dept of Energy Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) Fellowship Program

Now Accepting Applications for current BS, MS or PhD students and recent graduates (within the last 5 years) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information/Systems Technology, Cyber/Computer Security or related technology/engineering degrees.

Opportunity in Carlsbad, New Mexico for a full-time, 12-16 week commitment (possibility of extension), will start in May 2014 to conduct mission-oriented research in DOE’s Carlsbad Field Office.  Applicant must be interested in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment focused on energy technology research and development.
