New Brooms Sweep Clean: The Arctic Warriors Win Game Number Two

Sloppy Joes were on the menu at the broomball rinks today. If you’re like me, you love the combination of ground carcass and tomato paste, but this sloppy meat mess was less appetizing than your normal lunch special. In their second game of the season, the Warriors sloppily broomed along. Despite their lackluster presence, they were able to pull off a win. At first, the game seemed like it would be a blow out after Cadet Corey scored in the first minute with an assist by Cadet Pscheid. The offense, led by Cadet St. Arnaud, applied pressure, but forwards Bigalke and Van Wert were unable to capitalize on numerous opportunities. Cadet St. Arnaud was only able to put one shot away late in the second half, assisted by stud forward Cadet Bigalke. Master Sergeant Farmer found his feet this game and played solid defense with no penalties or big hits. Cadet Wilkins played stout defense which helped returning goalie Cadet Stetter survive serious barrages from the opposition. Once again, the Artic Warriors found themselves in the penalty box with enforcer Cadet Abbott throwing his broom. The Artic Warriors look to rest up and shore up their play before they play their next game this Saturday at 1600 on the Gold Rink.
