Research Assistant Professor Elizabeth Hager
Elizabeth Hager earned a PhD in microbiology/immunology from the University of Colorado in 1997. She has a master’s in immunology and a bachelor’s in microbiology from North Carolina State University.

Previously, she was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh.

Her research includes genetics and disease.

Her work has been published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research; the Journal of Immunology; the Journal of Molecular Microbiology; the Journal of Bacteriology; the Journal of NeuroVirology; the Journal of Inherited Metabolic Disease; the New England Journal of Medicine.

Assistant Professor Wan Jin Jahng
Wan Jin Jahng earned a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000. He has both a master’s in organic chemistry and a bachelor’s in agricultural chemistry from Korea University.

Previously, he was assistant professor at the University of South Carolina.

His research includes proteomics of the eye, the visual cycle, and the treatment of macular degeneration.

He is a member of the New England Bioscience Society, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association, the American Chemical Society, and the Korean Chemical Society.

His work has been published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry; Tetrahedron Letters; Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Letters; Biochemistry; the Journal of Virology; Organic Letters; Cell; Cell Metabolism; Molecular Cellular Biology New; the Journal of the American Chemical Society; Cancer Research.

Assistant Professor Amy M. Marcarelli
Amy Marcarelli earned a PhD in ecology from Utah State University in 2006. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Colgate University.

Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Idaho State University.

Her research includes lake and stream ecosystems, watersheds, water quality and nutrients.

She is a member of the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, the Ecological Society of America, and the North American Benthological Society.

Her work has been published in the Journal of the North American Benthological Society; Hydrobiologia; Freshwater Biology; Limnology and Oceanography; Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences; Biogeochemistry.
