Sign Up for Family Fun at Michigan Tech’s Alumni Reunion

Friday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m., all kids are invited to “Children’s Laboratory Exploration: Investigating the Lake Superior Food Chain Using a Lake Trout Stomach!” Professor Marty Auer and Joan Chadde, director of the Center for Science, Math and Environmental Education, will lead this workshop that involves dissecting trout innards. Parents and grandparents are also welcome to come to the University Waterfront, near the Great Lakes Research Center. Agassiz Draws a Crowd at Strawberry Festival

More than 160 people, ages 8 to 80, participated in one of nine scientific excursions on Chassell Bay, offered on Tech’s Research Vessel Agassiz at the Strawberry Festival in Chassell on Saturday, July 7. Director Joan Chadde, Center for Science and Environmental Outreach at the Great Lakes Research Center, coordinated the event, which she called “a huge success.” READ MORE

An upcoming Copper Country Today program will focus on the health of Lake Superior and Tech’s new Great Lakes Research Center. Here is the schedule:
