Happy Monday, Commuters!
Welcome to another edition of… The Commute.
I hope all of your midterms are going well so far. I also hope you got to check out Career Fair and hopefully have some interviews to attend.
This week we have some more events pertaining to Career Fair. This will be very beneficial to you, especially if you have an interview coming up for a full-time position. There is also another session for this on Thursday, October 11th from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you have an interview coming up for a job, I would check this out to learn how to negotiate offers with ethics, strategy, and insight.

If you’d like to take a break from classes and exams this week, there will be an event on Wednesday, October 10th from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This event is called “Live Through This – Dese’Rae Stage”. Dese’Rae Stage wants to show the world that suicide is not an affiliation with any certain group, it affects people of all ages, races, faiths, ethnicities, gender presentations, sexual orientations, professions, and so much more. She founded the project LiveThroughThis.org, which shares the stories of attempt survivors, and the portraits taken following their stories being told. So, come and show your support to these survivors and listen to their stories, and help create awareness about suicide. There will also be a Q&A after the keynote. This event will be held in the Rozsa Center.
Are you interested in getting involved playing sports on campus? If so, the Racquetball Club is having open play on Thursday, October 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This will be held at the SDC Racquetball Courts. Here, you can learn more about the Racquetball Club, and play against a variety of opponents.
And finally, what seems like every college student’s favorite winter activity… Men’s Hockey. The first series of the season starts this weekend (Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th). Our Huskies will be playing the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. Both games will begin at 7:37 p.m. Our Men’s Football team also has a game on Saturday, October 13th at 1:00 p.m. They will be playing against Wayne State.
