Hello Commuters and welcome back to another edition of..

The Commute

It’s week nine, which means final exams are approaching soon, so make sure you start pacing yourself and studying for those exams. We will be having a commuter event when it gets closer to exam time. Details for this event will be in the blog when I have more details.

Halloween is this Wednesday, and the Pep Band has a special treat for the public. The Michigan Tech Pep Band calls this event “Yalloween”. This will be a concert where the Pep Band will play great music to get you in the Halloween spirit. This event is free for Michigan Tech students. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Rozsa.

The 41 North Film Festival is holding a festival of Independent films from around the region. There are many different films streaming, and some have Q&A’s with the directors, and even panels, so make sure to stop by for this festival. More information on locations, titles, and times can be found at: https://events.mtu.edu/event/41_north_film_festival#.W9SvCmhKhPY

Leadership is a very important quality and role to have, especially when you get out into the workforce. The Interfraternity Council is sponsoring an event “Limitless Leadership – Tom Healy”. This one hour presentation will help you learn how you thrive to be a leader, and some helpful pointers in holding that role. This presentation will be held on Thursday, November 1st from 8:00-9:00 p.m. in the MUB Ballroom.

Another thing that I want to mention to you guys is not an event, but it is a place you can go to if you need to relax and take a break from studying and all of the craziness that college brings. One of my favorite places on campus to unwind and relax is in the Relaxation Room. The Relaxation Room is on the third floor of the Administration Building (Counseling Services). The relaxation room has a sun lamp to help you get some Vitamin D since winter is approaching, it has some comfortable couches you can take a quick nap on, and you can even do a crossword or color a picture to relax your mind. I would highly recommend checking out the Relaxation Room and the other many places that our campus has to offer for study breaks!

I hope you all have a great week. Stay tuned next week for another edition of..
