Tech Arts Festival

Hello Commuters and welcome back to another edition of…

The Commute

I hope you all had a great week. Only a few more weeks left of the semester!

This week on campus, there will be a Tech Arts Festival with many events going on all week with fun and artsy-related activities. Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. there will be a Painting Night in MUB Commons, Thursday is a Picture Frame night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in MUB Commons, and Friday is the deadline at 5:00 p.m. for the Photography Competition.

On Wednesday, April 3rd from 5:00-6:00 p.m. there will be a Modern Languages Spring Celebration. A French-Canadian group, and Maple Sugar Folk will be performing. There also will be games if time allows and refreshments will be served. Make sure to stop by in Walker 134 on Wednesday to celebrate some modern languages!

On Saturday, April 6th from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. there will be “A Night Under the Lights” Charity Events. This charity event will be raising money for “Let’s Eat Community Meals” and “HuskyFAN”. This event will include Live Music, DJ, Dancing, Photo Booth, Cash Bar, and a prize giveaway. Dressing for the red carpet is encouraged, but not required! Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at: bit.ly/MTUCharityBall. Student tickets are $10, and the public tickets at $20.

That is all for events this week, but this week’s organization being talked about in the blog is the USG, or Undergraduate Student Government! The USG is established to establish, encourage, and maintain student self-government. They also promote student activities and special interests which benefit the University community. They have an office in the MUB by the Bookstore, so if you are interested in joining them, or have any general questions about the University, make sure to stop by during their office hours!

That is all this week for the blog.

Stay tuned next week for another edition of…
