Hello commuters and welcome back to another edition of..
Are you a first generation student? Are you in a major that is STEM related? If so, there is a Diverse Dialogues event going on this week called “Changing the Conversation: First Gen in Stem Panel”. This event will be held on Wednesday, April 10th from 12:05-1:30 p.m. in MUB, Alumni Lounge B.
Being on such a close-knit campus, a lot of us tend to get to know our professors and classmates very well. Well, this week on Wednesday, April 10th from 4:45-6:00 p.m. the General Public (including students!), will get an opportunity to meet Dr. Thomas Werner, an associate professor in Biological Sciences. Here, we will hear about his life growing up in East Germany, and how he had a personal spy who tried to send his parents to prison. Refreshments will also be served at this event. Make sure to stop by and support one of our fellow faculty and his life journey to see where he came from and how he ended up in our small town to teach. This event will be held in Walker 120A.
Do you enjoy playing basketball? Do you just enjoy entering basketball tournaments with your friends? If this is the case, then you are in luck! This Saturday, April 13th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. there will be a Doghouse Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Start and end times depend on how many teams are registered. The cost is $80 per team (with a maximum of 4 on the team). If you are interested in registering, you can find a registration form at: https://www.michigantechrecreation.com/camps/basketball/doghouse3on3/index
