MUB Board Scavenger Hunt

Hello Commuters and welcome back to another edition of…

The Commute

We are in the last few weeks of the semester, so make sure to finish strong before summer vacation! There will be a lot of final exam de-stress events coming up in the next few weeks when it gets closer to finals.

This week, MUB Board will be holding a Photo Scavenger Hunt. This scavenger hunt started yesterday (Sunday) and will continue through Saturday, April 20th. Each day while this scavenger hunt is going on, 3 new riddles will be posted on the MUB Facebook page. All you have to do is solve the riddles, take a selfie at the place/object and send it into: MUBboardFGchair@gmail.com. Bonus points will be awarded for the coolest photos. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be announced at the end of the week. Take part in this great scavenger hunt for the chance to win some great prizes!

On Monday, April 15th from 7:00-9:00 p.m., the Rozsa Center will be hosting the Together in Song performance. Together in Song is where local choir students come and perform individual songs in their choir classes, and then all of the groups join together at the end for the final song. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $4 for those under 18 years old. Come by and support your local choir students!

On Tuesday, April 16th and Thursday, April 18th from 8:30-11:00 p.m. in Fisher 135, MUB Board and Film Board will be hosting a movie night during the week of Spring Fling. They will be showing the movie: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Admission to this event is free! Come celebrate Spring Fling with the MUB and Film Board while enjoying a great movie.

On Saturday, April 20th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. there will be a Rubik’s Cube Competition in MUB Ballroom. This will be Michigan Tech’s and the Upper Peninsula’s first ever official World Cube Association Rubik’s cube competition. At this competition, you can spectate, compete, or even help volunteer at the event. You can register on the WCA website and find additional information there, also. Entry is $9 online or $10 at the door (8:00-8:30 a.m.). If you think you are a master Rubik’s cube solver, check out this event!

On Saturday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. Evangel Baptist Church is holding an 8,000 Easter Egg Hunt at Sherman Field. This event is free and open to the public. Get into the Easter spirit by attending this Easter Egg Hunt.

Also on Saturday, April 20th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. there will be a Tau Trot 5K Run/Walk. This event is hosted by Alpha Sigma Tau and Phi Kappa Tau for the first time. The race will begin in Hancock at the Phi Kappa Tau house and end in Houghton. All proceeds from this event will go towards Girls on the Run and SeriousFun Children’s Network. Participants will also receive a T-Shirt for attending. For more information on this event, please visit: tautrot.weebly.com.
