Our Next Energy (ONE), an energy storage company focused on battery technologies, will present demos of their technology on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., in Michigan Tech’s Great Lakes Research Center (GLRC), Room 202. All students are invited. Refreshments will be served.

ONE is also participating in Career Fair on Tuesday, September 19, and representatives from the company will join the College of Computing Career Fair Mixer on Monday, September 18, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Rosza Center lobby. The mixer is an informal meet-and-greet and networking event for students interested in computing careers. About 50 computing-related companies will attend. Refreshments will be served.
ONE is a Michigander EV & Mobility Scholars program core employer. Through a series of seminars, networking events, company tours, and more, Michigander Scholars build professional connections with Michigan companies that develop electric vehicles, battery tech, and semiconductors, which has just been added to the Scholars program. These connections may lead to internships, jobs, and even careers. Successful Scholars may qualify for up to $10,000 in scholarship dollars. Link to scholarship details here.
The Michigander EV & Mobility Tech Scholars program is presented at Michigan Tech by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the College of Computing. Michigander Scholars is an initiative of the Talent Action Team, a public/private consortium convened by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).
The ONE sessions will include:
- ONE will present an overview of the company and their product lines:

i. Commercial truck and bus batteries in production.
b. Aries™ II
i. Next gen LFP batteries with high pack energy density to compete with NCM/NCA for automotive applications.
c. Gemini™
i. Dual chemistry battery with target to double the range of electric vehicles to 600+ miles.
d. Aries™ Grid
i. 3.5 MWh battery to pair with solar and wind farms - Jason Davis (Sr. Director, Mechanical Systems Engineering) will present on what it takes to be a successful candidate and engineer at ONE.
