Nominations for USG Executive Board and At-Large Representatives are open until Sunday, February 11, 2024, at 5 p.m. Please submit a nomination or two for someone you believe would represent the student body well as the USG President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, or At-Large Representative. Below are the responsibilities for each position:
● The President is responsible for appointing committee chairs and liaisons, speaking and advocating on behalf of the Undergraduate Student Government, and setting a vision for USG.
● The Vice President chairs USG meetings and the Personnel committee oversees committee chairs, and serves as the office manager.
● The Treasurer oversees the disbursement of Student Activity Fee funds, keeps track of the USG budget, and chairs the Ways and Means committee.
● The Secretary takes minutes at USG meetings, sets the agenda for meetings, and supervises USG elections.
● At-large representatives hold the entire student assembly as their constituency.
USG members must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25 and be in good conduct standing. Additionally, Eboard members serve as Ways and Means committee members. If you are nominated for a position and do not meet the GPA or conduct requirements, you will not be eligible to run.
USG members are required to hold three office hours per week and join a standing committee, all of which meet weekly. Additionally, members attend weekly meetings on Wednesdays from 7-9PM. Executive board members attend a weekly Eboard meeting and meet weekly with an advisor.
Nominations will be accepted until 5pm on Sunday, February 11th. Candidates are required to attend a mandatory election information session, either on Tuesday, February 13th at 6PM or Thursday, February 15th at 4PM. Elections will open at 8am on Monday, February 19th, and close at 5pm on Sunday, February 25th. New members will be sworn in at the meeting on Wednesday, March 27th at 7pm.
