Summer and Fall Research Assistant Job Openings


The following undergraduate and graduate research assistant positions are open in the Department of Computer Science.

Research Assistant, Future Interactions Group

Associate Professor Keith Vertanen, Computer Science, is recruiting a research assistant for the Future Interactions Group in the summer of 2024. Competitive applicants will have prior experience with web development (in particular, PHP and JavaScript). Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of concurrent computing principles (e.g. handling of race conditions).

This is a part-time hourly position from June to August 2024. Work can be done remotely. There is the possibility of continued employment in fall 2024 based on performance.

Undergraduate Research Assistant, Future Interactions Group

Research Assistant Professor Dylan Gaines, Computer Science, is recruiting an undergraduate research assistant for the Future Interactions Group beginning in the fall of 2024. Competitive applicants will have significant experience with Python. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and/or brain-computer interfaces.

This is a part-time hourly position (10 hr/wk) from September 2024 to March 2025.

Graduate Research Assistant, Future Interactions Group

Research Assistant Professor Dylan Gaines, Computer Science, is recruiting a graduate research assistant for the Future Interactions Group beginning in the summer of 2024. Competitive applicants will have experience with machine learning using Python. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and/or brain-computer interfaces.

This is a part-time hourly position (20 hr/wk) from July 2024 to March 2025.
