Inclusions@RSS offers student travel grants to 2018 Robotics: Science and Systems (R:SS) in Pittsburgh, PA – June 26-30, 2018

R:SS is an open, high-quality, single-track conference that focuses on significant contributions in the area of robotics.   RSS aspires to be the conference where new bold ideas are presented and where lively debates in the community are initiated. RSS also aspires to be the conference that influences people’s future research activities, and advances our field through a scientific discourse based on multiple views and approaches. The RSS Foundation is very much interested in promoting these high aspirations. More information can be found at

The R:SS community is committed to increasing the participation of groups traditionally underrepresented in robotics (including but not limited to: women, LGBTQ+, underrepresented minorities, and people with disabilities), especially people early in their studies and career. Such efforts are crucial for increasing research capacity, creativity, and broadening the impact of robotics research. To that end, Inclusion @ RSS will be an integral part of RSS that will focus on programs that increase and sustain a broader participation in the robotics research community. Component programs will range from co-located events to sponsored activities during the main conference.

Inclusion@RSS is pleased to offer a number of travel grants for students to attend 2018 Robotics: Science and Systems (R:SS) June 26-30, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania through our Inclusion@RSS campaign.  Students who are juniors, seniors, and first or second year graduate students in related programs are eligible.  We encourage applications from students that will broaden the participation and impact of robotics research.  The travel grants will include the conference registration and reasonable travel costs.  The application deadline is March 5, 2018 and notifications will be sent by April 20, 2018.  Additional information as well as the link to the online application can be found here (
