DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Manhattan College invites applications for a full-
time, tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank with an anticipated start date of

the Fall 2019 semester. The department seeks an exceptional candidate with a strong
academic record, who will be an active educator, serve as a mentor to students, work with
colleagues to assess and improve curricula, and be able to conduct research in a small,
private, undergraduate and master’s degree granting institution.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, preferably with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering
from an ABET accredited program, is desired. However, candidates with doctoral degrees and
strong records of achievement in other related chemical engineering fields will be
considered. Relevant teaching, industry experience, and professional licensure are all highly
desirable.
Candidates should prepare and submit in electronic form as a single PDF document: a) a cover
letter of interest, b) curriculum vitae, c) the names and contact information of at least three
references, d) a brief research plan, and e) a statement of teaching philosophy. The search
committee will begin review of applications starting February 15, 2019. To receive full
consideration, it is highly recommended that the application be submitted by that date. While
the anticipated start date for the position is the Fall 2019 semester, the position will remain
open until filled.
