Michigan Tech Alternative Spring Break Interest Meetings

Student Activities is offering two Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trips. In partnership with NetWork Volunteers and Long Way Home, students will be able to volunteer in New Orleans, Louisiana or San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala.

ASBs exist to promote service learning and community building to Michigan Tech students through participation in experiential learning opportunities via an alternative break. Both ASB’s will focus on environmental sustainability.

In New Orleans, students will preserve wetlands, conserve protected land and work in public green spaces. Students will attend Green Building Academy to give students hands on experience in green, sustainable building and construction practices in Guatemala.

Applications are now open until Feb. 10. There are two interest meetings scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday (Jan.27) and 4 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 31) in Wads G17/19W. Questions can be directed to Beka Horsch.
