Assistant Teaching Professor-Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites
applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
The Department is seeking an individual to teach and to provide a high-quality education to its
student body. Responsibilities will consist primarily of teaching the undergraduate laboratory
courses with opportunities to teach other undergraduate courses. In addition, opportunities
may exist for developing new courses and teaching at the graduate level. The successful
candidate also would be involved in advising undergraduate students, service and outreach
activities, and actively participating in continuing efforts to improve the department’s
educational mission.
Minimum qualifications for the position include the B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in
Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Preferred qualifications include relevant
industrial experience and a record of successful teaching at the college level.
This is a non-tenured teaching faculty position. Qualified applicants should send a cover

information of three references. Submission of a sample course syllabus, teaching evaluations
and sample of scholarly work/publications is optional. Initial review of applications will begin
