Faculty Openings in Chemical and Biological Engineering at South Dakota Mines

The Karen M. Swindler Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at South Dakota Mines currently has three faculty searches ongoing, for a total of five open positions in our department.  These searches include the following:

  • Department Head
  • Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks over a broad range of research areas (three positions)
  • Assistant Professor search in the areas of biochemical/bioprocess engineering, biopolymers, and separations/bio-separations.

CBE faculty members at SD Mines will have the opportunity to conduct research through the new $30MM POET Bioproducts Institute, a joint pilot-scale research institute between the State of South Dakota, POET, South Dakota State University, and the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.

Michigan Tech Info Session: Summer 2023 Study Away in England


Join Dan Trepal (SS) tomorrow (Dec. 1) from 4-5 p.m. in the Academic Office Building, AOB 209, for an information session discussing our upcoming summer 2023 Study Away in England.

This four-week Michigan Tech faculty-led summer program takes place in Carlisle, England, at the University of Cumbria from July to August. Students and staff explore northern England and southern Scotland through a mix of course options, field trips and site visits.
