Upper Peninsula Road Builders Association Logo Design – MTU Scholarship

The Upper Peninsula Road Builders Association (UPRBA) is an association of the fifteen Upper Peninsula county road commissions.  Since 1967 the Upper Peninsula Road Builders Association have been providing scholarships and other financial support to Michigan Tech University students.

The Upper Peninsula Road Builders Association is holding a logo design competition for Michigan Tech students to develop a logo that reflects the goals, mission and history of the Upper Peninsula road commissions.  The logo is intended to use on promotional items such as hats and shirts, and will also be used for electronic documents such as letterhead and websites.

The best logo will be selected by members of the UPRBA.  The winning artist will be provided with a $250 scholarship for tuition and fees at Michigan Tech.  If the UPRBA decides to use the winning logo for its branding efforts, the winning artist will receive another $250 scholarship to purchase unrestricted rights of use for the logo.

Deadline: May 3, 2019 at 5pm

Amount: $250, possibly $500

Eligibility: MTU Students

Alec Fisher Memorial Scholarship – MTU Scholarship

The Alec Fisher Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of Alec Fisher, a Michigan Technological University student who had majored in both Environmental Engineering and Management Information Systems, while also minoring in Psychology.

Deadline: May 1, 2020

Amount: $1,000; one time award


MTU student Junior level or above

GPA 3.2 or better

Major in Environmental Engineering or Management Information Systems

Preference is given to individuals from the Upper Peninsula

Financial need is considered heavily
