Cobell Scholarship Program

Eligibility:

The Cobell Scholarship was established as the result of the Cobell v. Salazar settlement. It is
competitive, awarded on merit first then disbursed based on unmet need, non-renewable, and
available to any post-secondary (after high school) individual who is; an enrolled member of a US
Federally Recognized Tribe, enrolled in full-time study and is degree seeking.

Applicants must plan to attend or be attending any nationally, regionally and industry accredited non-profit, public or private institution. Applicants must be pursuing a vocational certificate or diploma, associate’s, bachelors, masters, doctoral or professional degree, or certificate. The most updated information is always
available on the Cobell Scholar homepage and Online Application Student Information System (OASIS),
or by contacting IEI.

Burress Injury Law – Underdog Scholarships

Amount:  1 – $5,000; 2 – $2,500

Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen.
  • Demonstrated record of community or volunteer service.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university for the 2022-2023 academic year

Growing Your Community Scholarship – From Kaine Law

Amount:  $1,500

Eligibility:

  • GPA of at least 3.0
  • Admitted to or enrolled in an accredited college, university, or graduate school in the U.S.
  • OR Enrolled in an accredited high school in the U.S. (AND admitted to a accredited college)
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of the Growing Your Community Scholarship

Application Requires the Following:

  • Essay – 1,000 to 1,500-words describing your dedication to your school & the local community at large
  • Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance into accredited institutions

Amount:  $1,000

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Education will continue through at least the Fall 2022 semester

  • Current GPA of at least 3.0
  • U.S. Citizen

Hoggatt Injury Law – Children of Injured Workers Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:

  • Your parent has been affected by a work-related injury
  • You are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university through at least the Spring 2022 semester
  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have a current cumulative GPA of at least 2.5

1st Art Gallery Art & Design Scholarship

Amount:  $1,000

Eligibility:

  • You are a high school student graduating this calendar year and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school, OR
  • You are a student currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or design school
  • Your discipline is among the following: Arts – fine arts, music, performing arts on visual arts. Natural science – biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy or earth science. Social science – anthropology, economics, geography, political science, sociology or history. Or languages, linguistics, literature, mathematics. Philosophy, psychology or religious studies

Application Requires the Following:

  • Art students need to submit a piece of art that makes them proud. This can be any type of art submission, including (but not limited to) a painting, photograph, statue, song, animation, video, film, illustration, story, poem, or any other type of art. Liberal Arts students should apply with a recent sample of their writing on any subject, limited to 2000 words.
