MTU Scholarship – Nathan DeCleene Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student majoring in Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences who has demonstrated academic achievement and holds junior or senior standing. 

This fund was established in memory of Nathan DeCleene, who was a Michigan Tech geological engineering student and an active member of the Copper Country Rock and Mineral (CCRM) Club.

Amount: up to $1,000


  • Majoring in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Mining Engineering
  • Junior or Senior
  • 2.50 GPA
  • Demonstrates financial need determined by the FAFSA

Upper Peninsula Road Builders Family of Scholarships (MTU Scholarships)

Paddock Scholarship (MTU Scholarship)

The Mike and Cathy Paddock Scholarship is for students entering civil or geospatial engineering programs in Fall 2021.

  • Eligibility: Students majoring in one of the following majors
    • civil engineering
    • geospatial engineering
  • Award Value: Four (4) $5,000 awards, renewable for three years if renewal criteria is met.
  • Deadline: March 10, 2021, for priority consideration

Donald J Campbell Metallurgy Scholarship

Administered by: The Western Michigan Chapter of the American Foundry Society.

This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Donald J Campbell.

Award Value: Variable

Deadline: Postmarked by February 15, 2021

Eligibility Minimum Requirements:

• High School Education or Equivalent.
• If currently enrolled, be in “good standing” academically at their respective College, Community College, Trade School, or University.
Have a genuine interest in working in the metal casting industry or related field.
• Have filled out the application form OR submitted an essay for review by the DJC Scholarship Committee expressing a desire to receive a scholarship highlighting why they would be a good investment of scholarship funds.

Ideal Candidates will also have one or more of the following:

• Documented co-operative experience in a foundry
• Documented work experience in the metal casting industry or associated industry
• Letter of recommendation by current or previous employer in metal casting industry.
• Majoring in metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, or related hard science with metal casting as a focus.
• Attended FEF University or college or community college with direct focus on foundry related coursework.
• Letter of support from someone within the metalcasting industry able to provide character reference.

  2. Attach transcript of your educational record (high school, college, or military service). Note: graduate students: Submit Information on Previous Degrees.
  3. Submit a letter of recommendation from one of the following: current or previous employer, current instructor.

Civil & Environmental Engineering Pipeline Partner Scholarship (MTU Scholarship)

The CEE Pipeline Partner Scholarship program is an opportunity for students to connect to grow their civil and construction industry networks while receiving an up-to-five-year, recurring scholarship. The scholarship is thanks to partnerships from a growing list of civil and construction industry firms, including Jay Dee Contractors, Rowe Professional Services, AJAX, and Anlaan Corporation.

Galatians 6:10 Scholarship (MTU Scholarship)

Michigan Tech is now accepting applications for the Galatians 6:10 Scholarship.

The winner of this scholarship will receive four years of tuition at the Michigan resident tuition level. The criteria are that the incoming freshman be pursuing a degree in Engineering or the Sciences, that they submit a letter of interest to tell the donor more about themselves and their faith, and that they obtain a letter of support from a member of the Clergy who is willing to speak on their behalf.

  • Eligibility: Incoming MTU freshman pursuing a degree in Engineering or the Sciences. Application open to Michigan residents and non-residents. (Non-resident award will be equal to the value of in-state tuition)
  • Award Value: Michigan resident tuition, renewable for four years
  • Deadline: Friday, February 12, 2021
  • How to Apply: Complete this Google Form Application providing:
    1. Letter of Interest to inform donor more about themselves and their faith.
    2. Letter of Support from a Clergy member on behalf of the student.

Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) of Chicago Scholarship Program

Amount:  minimum of $1,000; 15 possible scholarship opportunities


  • Majoring in one of the following:
    • Industrial Technology,
    • Construction Management,
    • Engineering or
    • another similar field
  • Interested in a career in Mechanical Contracting
