CatLitterHelp.com’s yearly Search for A Scholar is back again this year to give away a scholarship fund of $1,500 to one deserving student.

The application is free. Are you interested? Check if you meet these requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an educational institution
  • Not more than 23 years old

If you have ticked off the two items above, listed below are the steps you have to follow:

  1. Read up on cat allergies and write about its symptoms, how it affects pet owners, and the ways on how to cope with it. The written output must be at least 500 words.

  1. Write a short biography about yourself. Mention your pet/s and how you care for them (if you have any).
  2. List down Basic Personal Information (e.g. address, school & contact number).

  1. Combine all your written files into a zip folder and email it to us at scholarship@catlitterhelp.com before April 1, 2018.

The announcement of the winner will be on April 10, 2018. The chosen scholar will be contacted to finalize details of fund transfer (either check or bank deposit).


Think Ahead Scholarship

Carved Lake Art is offering a Think Ahead Scholarship to encourage students to start thinking about the future of lakes and seas, as well as the living creatures in them.

Application: 1,000 word essay on “Preserving Aquatic Ecosystems”. Give a background on the current state of freshwater and marine life, and discuss what people can do to maintain or improve the current condition of aquatic ecosystems.
Other Application Requirements:
– Admission/Enrollment Confirmation
– Biography (100 words)
– Basic Personal Information (including home/school address and contact number)
Deadline: May 15, 2018

Amount: $1500, one time.

Calling out all student gamers and gaming enthusiasts!

GamingScan is giving out $1500 through their Annual Gamer’s Scholarship Program.

Are you up for it? Here’s what you need to do:

  1. In not less than 500 words, write a compelling essay about this year’s chosen topic: “Debunking Gaming Stereotypes”. We want to see the most common stereotypes about gaming and gamers, and then a contrasting explanation of what or how it really is in real life. You may include your own experience or those of people you know.
  2. Write a short biography (100) about yourself and include at the bottom of the page a personal information section (full name, age, address, school, contact number and you’re all-time favorite game).
  3. Email the essay and biography (.docx) along with a copy of your school’s admission form to scholarship@gamingscan.com.

2017 Ewen-Trout Creek Margaret Dittman Memorial Education Grant

The Margaret Dittman Memorial Education Grant was established by her husband, Mr. Gene Dittman, to assist past and present graduates of Ewen-Trout Creek High School of good character and in financial need to continue their education. Mr. Dittman recognizes the rising cost of higher education has made it more difficult for individuals of modest means to advance and complete their education. Through his generosity, this grant will be offered biannually.

The Ewen-Trout Creek Community Education Committee will be accepting applications, for the 2017 Fall semester, for this unique grant opportunity. Only completed applications postmarked by the deadline date will be considered.  The grant is awarded for the 2017 Fall semester only.  You must be a full time student, 12 credits or more. The deadline for application submission is FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2017.  The number of grant recipients and the award amount will be determined by the grant review committee.

Any further education you are seeking, a 2 year degree, a trade school degree, a 4 year degree or beyond,  PLEASE APPLY.  Even though you have submitted an application in the past, you may have been a recipient, or financial need/status has changed, PLEASE APPLY.

The names of the recipients of the grant will be released to local media for publication. The Committee will only notify the applicants selected for the grant award.

Aura Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship 2016-2017

Purpose: Provide a scholarship for a student currently enrolled in a health-related program.

Amount: Two recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship

Award Criteria: Applicant must be a resident of Baraga County with preference given to an Aura resident. Applicant must be currently enrolled and on sophomore standing or higher at a college or university or be accepted into a 2 year program in a health-related program and should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Applicant Process:

  •  A letter including contact information
  • A short essay stating intent to apply for this scholarship
  • Two personal/character references with contact information
  • Recent/current grade report or transcript indicating major and cumulative GPA

Asthma & Allergy Scholarship

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), asthma affects approximately 25.9 million Americans and more than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies. With Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month in May, it is our pleasure to contribute to the effort to raise awareness with the first ever National Garage Door Atlanta Asthma and Allergy Scholarship. This scholarship is intended to assist one hard working, high achieving college student who lives with asthma or allergies.

Eligibility: Been diagnosed with asthma or suffer from any type of allergy
Currently enrolled students with a minimum GPA of 3.00

 
Application: Choose one of the topics below, and write a 500-1,000 work essay

  1. In what ways has having asthma or allergies shaped or changed your life plans? How did you go about confronting and overcoming these limitations to push forward with your goals?
  2. What’s one thing you think would make the biggest difference in how society treats asthma and allergies?
  3. If you could give one piece of advice to someone who has just learned they have asthma or allergies what would it be? Why?
