Because on-campus activity is limited this summer, custodial services have also been scaled back. Essential employees with approval to be on campus won’t see a custodian in their building every day. Occupied buildings will be serviced on alternate days using a team staffing approach with staggered schedules. Unused spaces, such as classrooms and conference rooms, will remain unavailable.
We appreciate your help with these precautionary measures and guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure campus operations continue safely and efficiently. If you are an essential on-campus employee:
- Practice good hand hygiene and be responsible for your own safety.
- Bring your office trash and recycling to the designated common area in your building.
- Do not assume that high-frequency touchpoints in your building, department or personal office have been recently wiped. Department and individual offices will not be cleaned or checked by custodial staff. Employees are responsible for wiping and sanitizing touchpoints in their personal and office suite areas.
- Go to a different floor if your nearest restroom has been closed because it’s in a low-use area. Restrooms will always be available in buildings that have occupants.
Normal summer maintenance and cleaning, including stripping and waxing floors and touch-up painting, will be done at a lower frequency and in priority order as resources allow. Grounds, gardens and building systems will be maintained at a level appropriate for a reduced number of people on campus. Facilities will respond to work requests as allowed under any state executive order in effect and as resources permit.
If you have questions or need assistance, call 7-2303, or place a work order. Thanks for your cooperation.
