On Thursday, May 28, Michigan Tech initiated Step One in the MTU Flex Return to Campus Plan. A limited number of staff were approved to return to work on campus during this step. If you are essential personnel granted campus access during Step One, you will be able to work on campus after completing the following two new requirements:
- All University employees who are approved to return to work are required to self-monitor for symptoms using the COVID-19 Daily Symptom Monitoring Form through the MTU Flex Portal. If you have supervisor approval to be on campus, you are required to submit the form each day before arriving. HuskyCard tap access to campus buildings will reset at midnight each night. Completing the form each morning will turn on your HuskyCard’s access. If you don’t have internet access, please report your symptom monitoring to Public Safety each day before you leave for work by calling 906-487-2216.
- Complete the 20-minute online return-to-work SafetySkills training mandated by the state. Employees permitted to be on campus during Step One will receive an email with login credentials. Successful completion must be submitted no later than June 4, 2020.
Remember, common areas will remain closed during this time, including lounges and break rooms. Employees must remain six feet apart while working. If employees are unable to maintain a six-foot distance, they must wear protective face coverings, whether they are working indoors or outdoors. In addition, no more than 10 people will be allowed in a shared space on campus at any given time.
