As instructors ramp up for the fall flex semester, we want to draw attention to a number of important resources assembled. Most importantly, be sure to bookmark the Flex Fall Teaching Resources page which the CTL and IDEA Hub will be using as a “one stop shop” for questions and answers about teaching.
In addition to documenting questions and answers from all of the summer teaching sessions, this resource has capacities and maps for classrooms, ways to get signage for your lab, information about instructional face shields and headsets, documentation and practice opportunities for classroom tech, and remote instruction resources including a self-paced course in the common features of Zoom, Canvas, and Panopto. Detailed advice and videos modelling some of the tricky situations instructors might face about their socially distanced classrooms are also available by enrolling in a separate self-paced course.
There are also introductions to new tools, general teaching advice, and articles about specific topics (like testing). But even if you don’t find the answer to your question or have a resource to share, you can submit it. We’ll work to answer incoming questions and update the resource continually.
We continue to be amazed by the dedication, creativity and effort instructors are bringing as they prepare for FLEX fall! Let us know how we can help.
