Library Curbside Pickup Service Now Available

Effective immediately, the Van Pelt and Opie Library will offer curbside pickup of library and Interlibrary Loan books for faculty, staff, students, and Library Courtesy Card holders. Requests received before 2 p.m. will be available for pickup until 5 p.m. the same day.

Pickup times are 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, in the circle drive next to the library. Library staff will bring the bagged library materials to patrons curbside. Patrons do not need to leave their vehicles. A valid HuskyCard or Library Courtesy Card must be shown.

MTU Flex for Academics

Michigan Tech faculty, staff and students have formed a number of working groups to focus on different aspects of the University’s plans to return to campus this fall semester.  These groups and their members can be found on the MTU Flex Task Force web page. Provost Huntoon is leading the MTU Flex for Academics group. Since May 28, this group has been meeting twice a week to discuss various topics, which all fall under the broad umbrella of academics.

Information Technology and Campus Step Two

As our campus transitions to Step Two, most of the Information Technology staff will continue to provide support and service from home.  We will have a limited number of staff and student employees on campus every day, focusing first on the backlog of on-site physical work from March. New physical on-site work may take additional time to complete.

Because on-campus activity continues to be limited this summer, custodial services have been redistributed. Campus buildings are serviced on a rotating schedule using a team staffing approach. Custodial staff prioritizes public areas and open restrooms when they are in your building. They will not clean or check departmental areas and individual offices.

As more employees return to campus in Step Two of our reopening plan, we need you to do your part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure campus operations continue safely and efficiently.

COVID-19 Campus Update

In spite of the new realities imposed by COVID-19, the MTU Flex team is working hard to assure the Michigan Tech experience is excellent for our students, faculty and staff this fall. There will be new expectations of our entire campus community, requiring extra effort from everyone. There will also be a need to maintain flexibility as circumstances change. But, I am confident that by working together, we can provide a healthy and safe campus environment along with an excellent academic experience. Below are a few of the changes you will see on campus this fall.

Use Pickup Form to Collect Your Packages from Central Receiving

Central Receiving will resume normal operating hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays beginning Monday ( June 15), when Michigan Tech enters Step Two of our Return to Campus plan.

Central Receiving will not be delivering packages because buildings across campus are only open by pre-approved tap access during Phase Two. Instead, we will be arranging for package pickup. If you need to pick up a package, please complete this package pickup form.
