Repair Requests

Squeaky door?  Sticky lock?  If you need a repair in your residence hall room, or if you notice something that needs repair anywhere on campus, please complete an online repair request form.  This form is submitted to our Facilities staff who perform repairs Monday through Friday during business hours.

If you have an emergency and need urgent attention that cannot wait (no power, no heat, running water that will not stop) please call the DUTY phone for immediate assistance: 906-487-3889 or 906-487-DUTY.

Fall 2017 is Coming To An End

All Fall 2017 residence hall students (Wadsworth, McNair, Douglass Houghton, Hillside, and ICE House) are scheduled to depart on Saturday, December 23, 2017 no later than noon.

If you believe you need an extra day or two to depart, please complete the online early arrival/late departure google orm. If you wish to stay for the entire break between the end of the Fall and the start of the Spring semester, please complete this form.

There is a $20 per person per day fee to stay in the residence hall between December 23 and January 11. There is no fee to arrive on or after January 11 at 9am for the Spring 2018 semester.
Be aware many University services are not available during the break between the Fall and Spring semesters. All services will resume normal hours of operation on the first day of the Spring semester, January 16.

Spring 2018 is Coming Soon

All new Spring 2018 residence hall (Wadsworth, McNair, Douglass Houghton, Hillside, ICE House) students are permitted to move in to on Thursday, January 11 after 9am. If you will be a new student, you should check your MyMichiganTech account in the first week of January for your housing assignment details. All new students will check in at Housing and Residential Life, 153 Wadsworth Hall or the Wadsworth Hall reception desk. If you arrive late at night, please stop at the Department of Public Safety and Police Services to pick up your new residence hall key.
All returning Spring 2018 students may arrive starting at 9am on Thursday, January 11 at no additional fee. There is a $20 per person per day fee to arrive before this. Please use the early arrival/late departure form if you need to request an early arrival.
New students who have new contracts and will live in Daniell Heights, the shared houses on East Street, or the Sustainability House have contracts that start on January 12. You will be able to pick up your keys starting on January 12 at 9am from Housing, 153 Wadsworth Hall. Watch your email for exact details.
Wadsworth Hall dining hall will serve meals starting on Sunday, January 14. The reception desks will be open on Sunday, January 14. January 15 is a holiday. January 16 is the first day of class.

Thanksgiving Break is Coming

The residence halls will close for Thanksgiving Break.  The dining hall and the reception desks will be closed Saturday, November 18 through Saturday, November 25.  Many university offices will be closed during this week.

Students in the residence halls are permitted to stay in their residence hall rooms during the Thanksgiving Break.  There is no fee to stay.  Will you be leaving a day late or returning early?  Staying for the whole break?  Please register online so your building access is assured.  You must keep your Husky Card with you at all times.  The residence halls will lock on Friday, November 18 and will resume normal door locking schedules on Sunday, November 26.

Fall Departures

Are you planning to move out of your on-campus housing at the end of the Fall 2017 semester? If you will be leaving due to graduation, co-op, internship, study abroad, withdrawal, or transfer you may request to be released from your current housing without a contract termination penalty.
Please go online to notify Housing and Residential Life of your intention to depart. The online form will be available November 1-17. Watch your Michigan Tech email account for additional instructions. The Fall Departure form becomes active on November 1. The Fall Departure notification form can be found here:
Housing and Residential Life will verify your request with the appropriate department (Career Services for internships, IPS for study abroad, etc). All requests must be verified. If your request can be verified with the appropriate department, Housing and Residential Life will contact you in the first week of December with additional departure instructions to assist in your check out. If you are leaving due to withdrawal, transfer, coop, internship, or study abroad, start planning now to move out by Saturday, December 23 at noon. Due to early graduation on Dec 16, graduating students should also plan to depart no later than noon on Saturday, December 23 at noon.

Fall 2017 Housing Assignments

All students will be able to see details about their on campus housing assignments on August 1 on their MyMichiganTech account.  A Housing tab will be visible on that date.  Students in residence halls will see details about their building, room, furniture, and roommate(s) name(s).  Students in the apartments will have their exact apartment numbers posted.

Daniell Heights Parking Lot Painting

Transportation Services will be conducting parking spot maintenance on Thursday, June 15 and Friday, June 16 of this week. Please see the following schedule for when vehicles must be moved from these locations to ensure that painting can be completed as quickly as possible:
Lower Heights: Painting will begin at 7:00 AM Thursday
Upper Heights: Painting will begin at 7:00 AM Friday
Parking Options:
On Thursday, residents in Lower Heights are permitted to park in Upper Heights (2000, 2100 Block)
On Friday, residents in Upper Heights are permitted to park in Lower Heights (1800, 1900 Block)
Vehicles can also be moved to Lots 9 or 32 on Thursday and Friday.

Summer Track B Students Move in to Wadsworth

Summer Track B students are permitted to move in to Wadsworth Hall on Saturday, June 24 at noon.  You will need a picture ID to pick up your room key from the Wadsworth Hall reception desk on Saturday, June 24.  The reception desk will be open on Saturday, June 24 from 7am to 11pm.  If you arrive very late at night and the desk is closed, please go to the Department of Public Safety and Police Services on campus to pick up your key.

Summer Track A Students Move Out of Wadsworth

Summer Track A students will move out of Wadsworth Hall on Saturday, June 24 by noon.  Residents need to check with their RA to arrange a time to check out.  Furniture must be put back to the original position.  Trash must be removed.  You need to leave your room in clean condition: wipe down the furniture and vacuum your floor.

Daniell Heights Construction Update

On May 12, 2017 at 5pm, all residents in apartments 1912, 1913, 1914 as well as apartments 2110 and 2112 will move to different apartments. Buildings 1912, 1213, 1914, 2110, and 2112 will begin renovations on May 13, 2017.

With this move, the renovation project in Daniell Heights will begin to move to upper Daniell Heights. We hope you are as excited as we are about the improvements that are ongoing.
