New Sponsored Programs on-demand training module

Sponsored Programs is pleased to announce an on-demand training module for “Research and Confidentiality”. This module will cover the basics of satisfying confidentiality requirements during the conduct of research and is directed towards Principal Investigators and Departmental Coordinators.  Please consider taking advantage of this resource.  In the future, more on-demand trainings will be made available and announced.  This video presentation can be found on the Training page under the “Conducting Research Responsibly — Confidentiality” heading.

Research Workshop Addresses Foreign National Security and Export Control

The Vice President for Research Office will host an educational session, “Export Control and Foreign National Security,” from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 11. The session will be held in Memorial Union Ballroom A2.

This session will help faculty and staff understand and address foreign national restrictions considerations when conducting research. Topics covered will include: managing technical data, intellectual property, and proprietary materials; defining and working with foreign nationals, publishing and teaching; and exporting and licensing considerations. There will be three guest speakers from the FBI to cover different topics.
