Seminar Title: The Impact of Freeze-Thaw on Cliff Recession at the Calvert Cliffs
Bonnie will trace the geological as well as recent history of this area on Maryland’s west shore of Chesapeake Bay. She will describe the development of her work, including last summer’s field studies, and explain her hypothesis for the natural cliff recession in this area.

Dr. Dale Tahtinen will speak on the interactions possible between civil and environmental engineers and both state and federal legislators. He will also discuss how we (engineers) can be most effective in influencing legislation. I’m sure that some of his commentary will raise questions, and he has requested that questions from the audience can be raised at any time. Dr. Tahtinen has a great deal of experience interacting with elected and appointed officials ranging from the President of the United States to state staff members.
