Consider applying for the SAE Cyber Auto Challenge (CAC)! With 100 million lines of code and over 100 electronic control units (ECUs), the automobile is now the most complicated software device in the world and presents security challenges for developers and opportunity for hackers.
Participants in the CAC will take part in an intensive 4.5-day practicum-based workshop in Warren, Michigan. Acceptance to CAC is merit based.

On February 28 & 29, 2020, Saint Mary’s College is hosting the 3rd Annual Data Science Hackathon, a competition where teams of participants will work with preference data to build recommender systems. The teams that develop the top three most accurate predictive models will win cash prizes! Lodging at a discounted rate is available for participants traveling from out of town. Jumpstart your career by pitching real solutions to executives and gain hands-on experience to make a difference in the technology sector.
The Rundown
The 2020 Challenge kicks off with a two-day Innovation Jumpstart event on Feb. 8 in Southfield and Feb. 9 in Detroit. This is followed by a two-week incubation period where students will work remotely (or virtually) with their teams to develop a solution proposal. The challenge then concludes with a team pitch on Feb. 22 at the Lear Innovation Center in Detroit.
As a member of the winning team, you have the opportunity to work as a summer intern within Lear Innovation Ventures. This internship is not like most, you will be acting as an independent startup, working to incubate and define a real solution with the help of subject matter experts.
During the Jumpstart Workshop and two-week Sprint, you will:
