Ford Teams Seeking Candidates for Early Career Positions

The Manufacturing Site IT team and In-Plant Implementation team in the Global Manufacturing IT unit at Ford are seeking candidates for early career positions working in technology program management and industrial controls.

The intended candidates are graduates of the Department of Applied Computing’s BS in Computer Network and System Administration (CNSA), now the BS in Information Technology, BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, the BS in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology, and the BS in Mechatronics, as well as the College of Business’s BS in Management Information Systems.

Co-op positions are available on the company’s System Administration, Cyber Security, and Application Development teams. Undergraduate Researcher for AR Project


Dave House Associate Professor Keith Vertanen, Computer Science, is looking to hire an undergraduate research assistant to work on a project involving text input on a Microsoft HoloLens v2 augmented reality (AR) headset. The research assistant will assist in developing and extending an existing AR application written in Unity. The RA may also be asked to help conduct a user study. The position starts immediately with the possibility of continued work in Spring 2025. Apply here.

  • Must be a current Michigan Tech undergraduate
  • Experience with Unity development platform
  • Programming experience outside of your classes
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and technologies
  • Able to work at least 8 hours per week during term

Fully Funded PhD Opportunity in Mechatronics

Assistant Professor Amna Mazen, Departments of Applied Computing and Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology, is seeking applications for a Ph.D. position in mechatronics starting in spring 2025. The research will focus on leveraging mobile manipulators for tasks in healthcare and industrial applications. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Michigander Scholar Exchange Is July 31

We are happy to announce our first Michigander Scholar Exchange!  It will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 2-5:30 pm at the MSU Management Training Center, 811 West Square Lake Road, Troy, MI.

We are looking forward to connecting students who are Active in the Michigan Scholars Program with key MS employers and companies of interest before heading back to campus.  This event serves as both an educational conference and a networking opportunity for students and company representatives.  Scholar companies expected to attend include Bosch, DENSO, Ford, General Motors, KLA, Magna, Mahle, Nissan, Toyota, Ultium Cells, and more.
