Detroit Post of the Society of American Military Engineers Scholarships

Amount: $3,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be actively enrolled at an accredited college or university within the state of Michigan. Sophomore status and will not graduate in May 2026, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related sciences. U.S. citizen and enrolled in a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program.

Application Requires the Following: 

  • Completed nomination form
  • College transcript with cumulative credits and grade point average
  • A letter of recommendation from a SAME Detroit Post member or college advisor. Additional letters from an instructor or immediate supervisor will also be considered.
  • A written submission by the applicant describing scholastic and short-term and long-term career goals.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship

American Business Women’s Association Scholarships – Greater Oakland Charter Chapter

Amount: $2,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be a woman who is a U.S. citizen and will be a college freshman through graduate level students in the Fall of 2026 or a woman who will be a college junior through graduate level students in Fall of 2026. Primary (home) residence must be in Michigan. Has achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Application Requires the Following: 

  • Must complete an online application (link will be provided) and submit an official transcript, a biographical sketch, and three (3) professional letters of reference dated in the same year as her application.

Submit Applications: Complete the following instructions for the Impact Scholarship or Outright Grant provided by the American Business Women’s Association

Waub Ajijaak Press and Foundation Leadership Scholarship

Amount: $2,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be of Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian descent as they pursue undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and professional degrees at accredited institutions in Michigan.

Application Requires the Following:

  • Essay
  • Confirmation of Native Identity – Please attach your Tribal ID or a letter from the enrollment department. We will also accept a parent’s Tribal ID accompanied by documentation verifying the parent-child relationship. Please note that there is no minimum blood quantum requirement for eligibility.
  • Letter of Acceptance – Submit this from your college/university.
  • Transcript – Recent official and unofficial academic transcripts are both acceptable.
  • High School Diploma or GED – Attach your high school diploma or GED documentation if applicable.
