Michigan Society of Professional Engineers – Scholarships

Eligibility:

  • Be currently accepted in an engineering degree program at a Michigan ABET-accredited college or university. Scholarship awards are contingent upon acceptance for admission and an intent to earn a degree in engineering and enter the practice of engineering after graduation. Computer Science is not considered an accepted engineering major.
  • Be a high school senior, a resident of Michigan and a U.S. Citizen at the time of application.
  • Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) based on a 4.0 scale, for the sophomore (10th grade) and junior (11th grade) years in high school.

Application Requires the Following:

  • Submit a list of current classes being taken as a senior (12th grade).
  • Provide an official high school transcript and SAT test score.
  • Write and submit an essay (typewritten, min. 11 point font) of 250 words on “How I was influenced to pursue an engineering career.”
  • Complete an application for a free student membership in MSPE/NSPE.
  • All applications must be submitted online.

Impact Scholarship from the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund of the ABWA – Greater Oakland Charter Chapter

Amount:  2 – $2,000

Eligibility:

• The applicant must be a female and a U.S. citizen.
• ABWA members and non-members may apply for an Impact scholarship.
• The applicant’s primary (home) residence must be in Michigan
• The applicant must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
• The applicant must be seeking a baccalaureate degree or higher.
• The applicant must be a college freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student by 8/1/2022.
• Applicant must be attending an institution authorized to confer degrees at the baccalaureate level or higher in the US.
• Applicant must have a financial need for assistance to pay for her tuition, books, or fees.

Michigan Farm & Garden Scholarship – Saginaw Branch

Eligibility:

  • Be a resident of Saginaw County.
  • Not be related to a member of Woman’s National Farm and Garden
  • College undergraduate (sophomore, junior, senior)
  • Be enrolled in a college program in the areas of environment, conservation, forestry, horticulture, nursery, wildlife management, natural resources, veterinary science (large animals), natural resources, land scape design, or a related field.
  • Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better in areas of math and science.

  • Provide a brief biological sketch: Include if you are implementing your area of studies outside of the classroom.

Chairish “Design Your Future” Scholarship

Amount: $2,500

Eligibility:

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be at least 18 years old as of the date of application
  • Must be a permanent legal U.S. resident physically residing in the fifty United States of America or the District of Columbia
  • Open to graduating high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited two-year, four-year, or technical/vocational college or university in the United States
  • This scholarship is open to students from all underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. Examples of ideal applicants include, but are not limited to, students from racial minorities typically underrepresented in higher education, first generation college students, women pursuing a degree in a STEM or typically male-dominated industries, students with disabilities, and or similar situations
