Taylor/Carr Scholarship

Michigan Tech is now accepting applications for the Taylor/Carr Scholarship.

Two applicants will be selected to receive an award. The recipients of this scholarship will receive a one-time, $750 scholarship. The criteria are that the student be a female pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mining Engineering.

  • Eligibility: Female. First year incoming student. Application open to Michigan residents and non-residents, however preference is given to Michigan residents. Mining or Mechanical Engineering. High school GPA 2.50.
  • Award Value: $750, one-time

Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship

Alan Mulally stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company. To honor his outstanding service to Ford, the Company established a new global scholarship program – The Alan Mulally Leadership in Engineering Scholarship.


  • Currently a sophomore or junior
  • 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Majors related to Automotive Engineering – Preferred Majors: Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering


  • 1 recommendation letter from a faculty member
  • 1 page essay (400-500 words) describing your interest in Automotive Engineering, leadership role(s) held, and why you’re the best candidate for this scholarship
  • Provide a list of academic or community based organizations, community volunteer work, or other engineering related activities you have been involved in.

Galatians 6:10 Scholarship (MTU Scholarship)

Michigan Tech is now accepting applications for the Galatians 6:10 Scholarship.

The winner of this scholarship will receive four years of tuition at the Michigan resident tuition level. The criteria are that the incoming freshman be pursuing a degree in Engineering or the Sciences, that they submit a letter of interest to tell the donor more about themselves and their faith, and that they obtain a letter of support from a member of the Clergy who is willing to speak on their behalf.

  • Eligibility: Incoming MTU freshman pursuing a degree in Engineering or the Sciences. Application open to Michigan residents and non-residents. (Non-resident award will be equal to the value of in-state tuition)
  • Award Value: Michigan resident tuition, renewable for four years
  • Deadline: Thursday, February 6, 2020
  • How to Apply: Submit 2 letters:
    1. Letter of Interest to inform donor more about themselves and their faith.
    2. Letter of Support from a Clergy member on behalf of the student.

HotelPlanner’s Graduate Technology Scholarship for Military Veterans

HotelPlanner’s Graduate Technology Scholarship for Military Veterans – Providing $10,000 in Financial Assistance to Military Veterans and their Families Pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree Related to Technology

The HotelPlanner Scholarship Program was designed to provide financial assistance to veterans of the United States military, along with the spouse/partner and children of U.S. military veterans, who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree related to technology.  HotelPlanner recognizes the incomparable commitment made by the brave men and women of the military who fight to keep the country safe. As such, it is committed to support those individuals who choose to pursue a college degree and are in need of additional funds to help defray the costs of higher education.

Awarded to ten applicants (veterans or veteran’s spouses/partner and children) seeking a graduate education in an accredited degree program related to technology, two times per year – $1,000 each.

GreenPal Business Scholarship

Amount: $2,000 over 4 semesters ($500 per semester)


  1. Applicant must be graduating High School’s Senior Class in 2019 or currently enrolled in a college of business with a 3.5 or higher GPA
  2. Applicant must demonstrate high ambition and desire to be an entrepreneur or business owner
  3. Applicant must have a declared major or minor in the college of Business, Economics, or Finance.
  4. Funds must be used for full-time enrollment at accredited two or four-year colleges, Universities, vocational or technical schools in the United States
